Famous Trials Website

Douglas O. Linder, Professor of Law at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, has created the Famous Trials website . The site covers numerous famous trials and includes links to documents and other relevant information. The trials include historic trials such as the trials of Socrates, Thomas More, John Brown and Oscar Wilde. More recent trials such as the Clinton Impeachment, the O.J. Simpson trial, and the Zacarias Moussaoui trial are also included. From the Valpo Law Blog .

Ohio Speed Cameras Decision

Ohio Supreme Court Eminent Domain Decision

Today's Ohio Supreme Court eminent domain decision can be viewed here . The unanimous Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Norwood property owners and determined that the property in question could not be taken for economic development through the city's eminent domain procedures.

ABA Presidential Signing Statements Report

The American Bar Association (ABA)'s Task Force on Presidential Signing Statements and the Separation of Powers Doctrine has released its report examining the "constitutional and legal issues raised by the practice of presidents of the United States of attaching legal interpretations to federal legislation they sign." TRAC Immigration

InSite recently wrote about the TRAC Immigration Project website from the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC). The TRAC Immigration Project is a "...new multi-year effort to systematically go after very detailed information from the government, check it for accuracy and completeness and then make it available in an understandable way to the American people, Congress, immigration groups and others." New WorldCat Site

OCLC has just announced the launch of a new WorldCat site. The new site will be available in August. From OCLC : To be released August 2006 in beta form, WorldCat.org continues OCLC's efforts—begun with the Open WorldCat program—to make library resources more visible to Web users, and to increase awareness of libraries as a primary source of reliable information and helpful personal assistance. Where Open WorldCat inserts "Find in a Library" results within regular search engine results, WorldCat.org provides a permanent destination page and search box that lets a broader range of people discover the riches of library-held materials cataloged in the WorldCat databases. Web Searching: Instant Feedback

AlltheWeb has a live searching feature that reports results as you type. It's pretty cool to see how the results change as you add search terms. I tried out Election Law Ohio and paused between each word to give AlltheWeb time to catch up. This is a great way to figure out what works and doesn't work when you're having a hard time coming up with search terms.
