Nationmaster

There is a new web site called Nationmaster that allows users to view various statistics from countries all over the world. The statistics collected cover a great many topics, including crime, employment, education, and immigration, just to name a few. The data can be organized into charts, which makes it easy to compare countries in the statistical categories.

Oregon Claims Statutes Are Copyrighted Material

The State of Oregon is claiming that the Oregon Revised Statutes are protected, copyrighted material. The State has sent cease and desist letter to sites like Justia and Public.Resource.Org that have been posting copies of Oregon laws. More information is available from BoingBoing.

HeinOnline Journals Being Indexed by Google Scholar

Google Scholar is indexing the Law Journals inHeinOnline to make the more than 1,100 titlessearchable in the Google Scholar interface. Theindexing is still ongoing, as Google Scholar has notfully indexed all of the titles in the Law Journal Collection as of yet. Over the next 30 days or sothey should near completion of the indexing at whichpoint the entire HeinOnline Law Journal collection will be searchable in Google Scholar.

Justice Scalia to be on 60 Minutes

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia will appear on the April 27th episode of 60 Minutes on CBS. He will be discussing his new book (co-written with Bryan Garner), Making Your Case: The Art of Persuading Judges.
