April 12th (one week from today) marks the beginning of the sesquicentennial of the Civil War. The Library of Congress is commemorating the event with a special exhibition: "The Last Full Measure: Civil War Photographs from the Liljenquist Family Collection." The collection contains over 700 ambrotype and tintype photographs of Union and Confederate soldiers. More on the collection. Washington Post article.
