Practical Content Dashboard

In Fall 2020, Cheetah, the legal research platform from Wolters Kluwer, released its new  Practical Content Dashboard . The Dashboard is a central point from which legal professionals can access all of Cheetah’s “practical content” – task-oriented and analytical content such as forms, checklists, and practice notes for specific areas of law. Users can filter by practice area and content type so that they can quickly see everything available to them. While this new feature does not change the content that a user can access (which is based on the user’s subscription), it provides a more streamlined point of access. With the launch of this dashboard, Cheetah now has over 20,000 practical content tools and documents that are more readily accessible to users. These resources include 18,000 forms, 350 Smart Charts, and 85 SmartTasks, as well as Guidebooks, Answer Books, Decision Trees, calculators, and checklists. Bloomberg Dockets

Bloomberg Law Dockets is a great way to track current cases of interest and research past court documents. You now have the ability at Bloomberg Law to check and view your usage statistics for Bloomberg Law Dockets. When you login to Bloomberg Law, you will see an option for “My Dockets Billing” when you click on your name at the top of the page. Law Library Tips for People-Finding

Want to search for Moritz alums who practice in Cleveland? Local lawyers who specialize in health law? Prepare for networking and interviews by brushing up on your people searching skills. The library’s  Career Resources Guide  includes resources and strategies for finding out about people. A great place to start is by using the directory on local bar associations’ websites, such as the  Columbus Bar Association , the  Cincinnati Bar Association , and the  Toledo Bar Association . These freely available tools offer limited search options, so for a more nuanced search, you’ll need to use other tools, like the Lexis Litigation Profile Suite and Westlaw’s Litigation Analytics . Keep in mind that often the best way to learn about people is through networking itself. Lexis and Westlaw Brief Research and Analysis Training Sessions

Are you interested in learning about the resources and tools within Lexis and Westlaw that can assist you in researching and drafting trial briefs/memoranda? Each platform will be offering free training sessions over the next two weeks emphasizing their brief research and analysis features. While these trainings are geared towards 1Ls, they are open to all students. The sessions will be offered twice (you only need to attend one session for each platform) and will also be recorded and made available to students who cannot attend the live sessions.
